After A Clunker In Philly, Revenge Must Spark A Giant Rebound Against Dallas
With the Redskins getting handled by the lowly Buccaneers (whoops – nice jinx 610), the NFC East is essentially already down to a three-team race. Unfortunately for the Giants, they’ve mad little success against the other two. After last Sunday night’s embarrassment, Big Blue fell to 3-12 in their last 15 against the Eagles. Now the Cowboys are in town and if the G-Men can’t come out on top, they’ll have been swept by Dallas for the third straight year. Four of the last five L’s have been by 5 points or less, including opening night’s 27-26 heartbreaker. It’s about time NY gets a little payback.
With Greg Hardy back, rookie Randy Gregory ready to go & the team as a whole coming off a bye, the NYG offensive line will have their hands full based on how much success the Eagles pass rush had last week. I’m not sure why Shane Vereen wasn’t used more as a safety valve but I have to imagine McAdoo will work him in more today. Beckham & Randle are good to go so Eli will need to take advantage of a mediocre secondary that doesn’t take the ball away. If the OL gets whipped like they did in Philly though, that won’t be easy for #10 to do.
The game in Philly seemed to flip on Big Blue right when DaMontre Moore flipped Bradford on his head. Moore’s wearing sneakers today & looks to be inactive. The Giants get a big boost though with the return of Devon Kennard who will be counted on to help wreak havoc on the Cowboys’ third QB of the season. It’s hard to get any worse than Weeden, but there’s still no way Spags’ defense can allow Matt Cassel to beat them.
As it’s been for most of the season, opportunity is here for the G-Men. They’ve struggled mightily against their two biggest rivals but without Romo & Dez, this Dallas squad is primed to be handed their 4th straight loss. The Stoolies packing out the Barstool tailgate should be in for a treat. Anything less than a double-digit Giants victory will be a stunner if this team is made of what I think they are. Fuck the Cowboys.
